What is iDRAC?
Dell Remote Access (iDRAC) with Lifecycle Controller enables an Optimized and location-independent management of your dedicated servers. With the help of iDRAC9 technology, you can deploy, monitor, manage and maintain your dedicated servers or root servers from any location. It does not matter whether an operating system or hypervisor is present or whether the root servers are in an operational state. Remote access is maintained as long as power is available.
iDRAC9 Enterprise is already included in your dedicated server package and does not need to be set up separately. So you can start directly with the Remote Server Management!
Dell LifeCycle Controller
As an integral component of iDRAC, the Dell LifeCycle Controller management tasks such as provisioning, maintaining, customizing, patching and updating your servers. The controller assumes a kind of memory function for a predefined server profile by backing it up externally via iDRAC. The LifeCycle Controller thus reduces the time spent on administrative tasks, reduces error-proneness, increases security in the operation of the root server and overall increases the efficiency of your IT environment.
If the server fails due to damaged firmware, incorrect configuration changes or hard disk damage, you are automatically informed and can use the lifecycle controller in the iDRAC9 to restore the functions of the previously saved server profile. Long downtimes of your business servers are thus avoided and the need to physically access the server is reduced to a minimum.
