Review of ContainerDays 2019 in Hamburg

The combination of concise, educational talks and cool hipster atmosphere make ContainerDays stand out as a real highlight for the Cloud Native community in Germany.

Short and sweet, we want to share our impressions of ContainerDays 2019 (#CDS19) from June 24-26 at the Hamburg Port Museum. There was a really nice relaxed atmosphere - plus very tasty food and due to the heat enough cold drinks (only the Clubmate was out at some point on the second day). The audience was well-mixed regionally and internationally, and more of a DevOps/system administrator side. This is not surprising, as the combination of concise, educational talks and cool hipster atmosphere make ContainerDays stand out as a real highlight for the Cloud Native community in Germany.

For ScaleUp, the presence at ContainerDays was worthwhile in any case. The demand for managed Kubernetes solutions with hosting in Germany is great and has met with a very positive response. It is also worthwhile to exchange ideas with other Kubernetes users and interested parties and to learn new application tricks for Kubernetes in talks like the one by Florian Assmus (@prodynase) "Organizing the YAML mess with Kustomize". It is very likely that ScaleUp will be at ContainerDays again next year.
