January 2025: New data center in Nuremberg (NUE1)
We have reached the year 2024 with the Commissioning of a new strategic data center in Nuremberg, thereby strengthening our network in southern Germany. In January, we launched our services based on our Open Compute Project (OCP) stack in the Franconia region.
Make a note of the date: The Official opening event for the new Nuremberg-Fürth location will take place on May 15 and offers an extensive program with guided tours, specialist presentations and networking opportunities.
February 2025: Comprehensive OCP hardware brochure published
In February, we finalized our new OCP hardware brochure, which aims to demystify and introduce the Open Compute Project solutions to European companies looking for open, independent and energy-efficient hardware solutions. The brochure introduces our entire OCP ecosystem:
- OCP server systems with AMD and Intel CPUs from our trusted partners
- Next-generation Rittal ORV3 racks with optional direct liquid cooling
- Murata power supply solutions compatible with ORV2 and ORV3 specifications
- Swissbit enterprise-grade SSD storage options
- Modern network hardware from STORDIS powered by Edgecore

March 2025: Strong presence at CloudFest 2025
We wrapped up the first quarter at CloudFest 2025 at Europa-Park, where our team spoke to hundreds of industry experts about our Open Cloud, colocation and OCP hardware solutions. Our joint stand with Stordis, X-cellent and OSISM attracted a lot of attention. Visitors were particularly interested in how open hardware architectures deliver cost efficiency and performance benefits.
We also gave our technical presentation "Deploying Your Own Open Cloud with Kubernetes, OpenStack, and SONiC", which demonstrated the power and flexibility of fully open cloud ecosystems.
Looking ahead: OCP EMEA Summit in Dublin
Our momentum continues as we prepare for the OCP EMEA Summit in Dublin on April 29 and 30, where we will be hosting presentations and panel discussions on key industry topics:
- Advances in the next generation of Open Compute hardware
- Energy efficiency strategies for modern data center operations
- The contribution of Open Compute to sustainability and cost optimization in the European data center landscape
