Public voting decides
We are particularly pleased that the award was based on a public vote. After our 5-minute pitch presentation, the participants voted - a room full of experts from the cloud industry, decision-makers from cloud providers and experts in digital infrastructures. It is naturally difficult to say exactly what tipped the scales in a vote like this. But the fact that our work on trustworthy cloud infrastructure has met with such a positive response confirms that we are on the right path.
A summit on the pressing issues
This year's EuroCloud Summit had a clear focus on the topics that are currently shaping the European cloud landscape: Sovereign cloud infrastructures, data protection and compliance - for example in the context of the EU Data Act and Gaia-X. AI-supported services, automation and sustainable data center design were also on the agenda. Swantje Westpfahl's keynote speech on digital sovereignty and geopolitical risks in cyberspace provided important impetus for the discussions that followed.
The event was very well attended and the exchange was intensive - both on regulatory requirements and practical implementations. It became clear that the topics of data security, digital sovereignty and European cooperation are no longer theoretical concepts, but concrete requirements that companies and organizations must implement today.
Why this award counts
Confidential computing is more than a technical feature - it is an answer to fundamental questions about the handling of sensitive data in cloud environments. The existence of this award shows that trustworthy European solutions are in demand and that functioning cooperation between different partners can create real added value.
We would like to thank everyone who voted for our project, as well as our cooperation partners HKN and enclaive and to the EuroCloud team for organizing a top-class event.
