2800 miles across the Pacific

On July 25, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. local time (Hawaii), the Pacific Floaters team arrived in Hanalei Bay on the island of Kauai. After a total of 43 days, 5 hours and 34 minutes, Catharina Streit and Wolfgang Fankhauser have made the 2800 miles from California to Hawaii, across the Pacific Ocean. This makes them the first German and the first Austrian to successfully cross the Pacific in a rowing boat. What an achievement!

We as the ScaleUp team who supported them are very happy about their success and that they arrived healthy and in a good mood.

The following video offers a brief overview of the adventure:

More details will be shared by Catharina and Wolfang during a presentation at our 25th anniversary celebration of ScaleUp Technologies on September 29th in Hamburg. If you are interested and have not received an invitation yet, please contact us. contact.
